A small modern terraced property, found in a quiet cul de sac, centrally located in the village of Coniston. This charming cottage is ideally situated to enjoy all the delights the village has to offer including tearooms, shops, pubs and restaurants.

Lovers of all things 'outdoor' will delight in the abundance of footpaths and cycle ways that are immediately accessible, leading down to the lake, into the forests or up onto the fells. Your car can easily be left in the private parking space for the duration of your stay, allowing you to explore the local area on foot or two wheels etc.

Lovingly refurbished by the owners, care and attention to detail is apparent throughout this lovely little cottage. Comfortable, welcoming and ever so stylish, this really is a true 'home from home'. Once visited never forgotten. Its hidden gem really has to be the rear cottage garden, an idyllic haven, offering open views across fields to the Yewdale Crags beyond, hence the name.

In essence Yewdale Cottage is perfect for couples, friends and young families alike.

Ground floor
As you come in the front door, there's a small slate-floored hallway that leads you into the living room. Two comfortable double settees surround a working log burner, perfect for cuddling up in front of. Of course there's a TV and DVD player for evenings or keeping young children entertained along with Wi-Fi for those who want to stay connected. Herdwick sheep and Lakeland views adorn the walls in case you'd forgotten where you are!

Moving to the back of the house takes you into the contemporary kitchen/dining area with electric hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer & microwave. There's a good sized wooden dining table and probably the best view to do the washing up too!

First floor
Upstairs there are two lovely bedrooms & bathrooms, the twin room has fell views, even from bed. What a great way to wake up!

Bedroom 1 - double bed and en-suite shower room.
Bedroom 2 - twin single beds & fell views.

Outside, there's a small gravelled garden with a stunning view to Long Crag: complete with garden furniture this is a great spot to enjoy al fresco dining or a barbecue (there's one provided). There's even a tiny babbling stream to add that special calming ambience.

For cycling enthusiasts there are some fantastic trails to be found in the area and the delights of Grizedale Forest are only a short ride away. For runners of all abilities the Lakeland Trail series visits Coniston yearly offering 5k, 10k, marathon and half marathon options. A favourite events amongst visitors and locals is the annual Coniston 14, 13.9 miles of scenic beauty as runners of all ages lap Coniston Water. For endurance athletes the Montane Lakeland 100 & Lakeland 50 events depart from Coniston each July and a whole host of water sports can be enjoyed down at the boating centre. Customer Comments

Our 3rd stay at this cottage and would highly recommend.
A.P. October 2020

The cottage surpassed our expectations. It was spotlessly clean in these sad Covid times. There were most of the tools and equipment I needed for four days of meal prep. The books and guides were very welcome. The space for our things in the ens suite was much appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay and had a great sense of achievement when we walked the Old Man of Coniston.
T&R, September 2020

The cottage is lovely and immaculate as always. Already re-booked for next September.

A&M, March 2019

Looking back in the visitor's book it would seem that this is our 16th visit! We had lovely weather so walked from Ambleside to Troutbeck via Wansfell Pike and returned via the lower fells. A lovely teashop break in Troutbeck revived us! We also visited Grizedale Forest and explored a part that was new to us. We are planning to return later in the year.
J&T, February 2019

Another fantastic stay; feels like home!
A,W,K&T, February 2019

Stayed in Coniston loads of times but this little cottage has now gone to the top of our most enjoyed places we have stayed; really cosy, well-equipped and lovely view. The Black Bull was as nice as ever, Wilson's at Torver do great chips and the best pint of Loweswater Gold! We will be back again if it is available!
R&R, November 2018

What a lovely, immaculate cottage. Great location, beautiful walks, pubs, food and cafes. The cottage was so cosy we didn't need to use the log burner but maybe next time! Not a lot to say just 'fabulous'. Thanks for letting us stay.
A,W,K&T, November 2018

Our 15th visit! A lovely relaxing weekend even though the weather was very iffy, it just means that we will have to come again to do planned walks that we didn't manage this time! We did walk along the old railway line to Torver and back by the lakeshore and appreciated the hot chocolate at the Bluebird Cafe afterwards and enjoyed sitting reading with the wood burner alight. Thank you once again!
